Jewel Jackson Obituary

On May 15, 2026, the Lord called home Jewel W. Jackson of Gloucester, Virginia, our beloved mother, sister and friend. Born on March 10, 1949 in Gloucester, Virginia, Judy was the beloved daughter of the late Ernest and Myrtle Wilson.

As students at T.C. Walker, Jewel met Samuel through a mutual friend. It was in these formative years that their courtship began. Jewel graduated from Gloucester High School and then was conferred her degree at Peninsula Business College. After college, Jewel moved to Washington D.C. to begin her career as a federal employee. Jewel and Samuel wed upon her return from the nation's capital, yielding 54 years of lasting and cherished memories. She concluded her career in health information management at Fort Eustis Army base in Newport News, Virginia.

She leaves a legacy of love and devotion to: her husband, Samuel E. Jackson Jr.; sons, Rodney C. Jackson (Paloma) of San Marcos, Ca. and Reginald G. Jackson (David) of National Harbor, Md. and a host of siblings, nieces, nephews, close relatives and dear friends.
