Inez Thorne-Brokenborough

Inez Thorne-Brokenborough was born in Irwin County, Georgia on November 28, 1923. She was the first child born to the late James "General" Thorne and the late Mary Olive Paulk Thorne-Tabb. The family moved to Middlesex County, Virginia when Inez was a baby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Brokenborough; her parents and her siblings Charles Thorne, Louise Osborne, Mary Elizabeth Tabb, Richard Tabb Jr. , James Thorne Jr. and Rev. Geraldine Garnett.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Mary Brokenborough, Lieutenant Colonel, USAR (Retired); her sister, Sarah Thompson; one sister-in-law, Girlie Smith; two brothers-in-law, Rev. Gary Garnett and Howard Brokenborough Sr.; her dear neighbor and friend, Joyce Perkins and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The viewing will be 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021 followed by a private (family only) service at noon at the funeral home.
