Gloria Chamberlain

Gloria Lee Chamberlain was born September 3, 1955 to the late Mattie Lee and Clayborne Chamberlain Jr. On August 3, 2025 she transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home.

Gloria attended King and Queen County Public Schools, graduating from King and Queen Central High School. Upon graduating, Gloria attended the Lewis B. Puller Center in Gloucester, Virginia where she worked, learned several skills and maintained long lasting friendships with her fellow trainees.

Gloria loved listening to music, watching soaps, dance competitions and ice skating.

Gloria joined Wayland Baptist Church at a young age. She continued to serve faithfully as a Deaconess for many years.

Gloria taught us so much more than we could ever put into words. Through her gentle spirit and unwavering compassion, she showed us the true meaning of patience, kindness and unconditional love. Whether it was through a warm smile, a listening ear or helping hand, Gloria had a way of making everyone feel seen, valued and deeply cared for. She led by example, reminding us that love isn't just a feeling but an action, a choice we make everyday to uplift those around us. Her presence was a blessing and her legacy of grace, empathy and selflessness will live on in every heart she touched.

Gloria leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sister and caregiver Theodosia (Gail) Young of Walkerton, Virginia; a brother, John Floyd Collins Sr. of Chesapeake, Virginia; brother, Clayborne Lincoln Chamberlain; nieces, Pionne Corbin of Glen Allen, Virginia, Malaika Anderson (Carl) of Glen Allen, Virginia and nephew, John Floyd Collins Jr. of Chesapeake, Virginia. She also leaves behind devoted aunts, Josephine Braxton of Tappahannock, Virginia and Alma Chamberlain of Alexandria, Virginia and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank Gloria's devoted caregivers at James River Hospice and the Laurels of University Park Nursing Home. Your kindness and commitment are appreciated.

Gloria's fun loving energy and infectious smile will live on in our hearts and memory. She will be deeply missed.
