Doris Hardrick

Doris Stokes Hardrick, 83, of Newport News, Virginia passed away peacefully on June 2, 2023 at Mary Immaculate Hospital. She was a native of Gloucester County.

Doris retired from Eastern State Hospital, Williamsburg, Virginia.

She was a member of Zion Poplars Baptist Church, Gloucester.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Gary Stokes; her daughter, Sherry Stokes; three sisters, Ethel Lee, Hattie Kyle and Rosa Myers and two brothers, Willie Stokes and George Burrell.

She is survived by three daughters, Robin Williams, Yosiko Dais and Sandra Miller; two sons, Keith Stokes and Hal Stokes; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

On Saturday, June 10, 2023 at First Morning Star Baptist Church 8906 Guinea Road, Bena, Virginia, a viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service which will begin at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Larry J. Arrington will be the officiant and Rev. Haywood Barnes Jr. will be the eulogist.
